The English Open has been staged at the Brentwood Centre in Essex for the past two years and it has proved a popular venue with the arena packed out for much of the 2023 event. Judd Trump won the title, beating Zhang Anda in the final.

The British Open was ever present on the calendar from 1985 to 2004, then it was revived in 2021. Televised by ITV, the tournament features a random FA Cup-style draw for every round which means that the big names can clash in the opening round.
