Tian Pengfei rallied from 4-2 down to beat 12-time Women’s World Champion Reanne Evans 5-4 at BetVictor German Masters qualifying in Sheffield and earn his place in the final stages in Berlin

Both players have struggled to find their best form this season, with today’s match only Tian’s sixth win of the season. Evans will leave Sheffield disappointed not to have registered a third match victory of the campaign, having put herself in a winning position.

Last year’s losing finalist Tom Ford earned his place in the German capital with a 5-0 defeat of Women’s World Champion Baipat Siripaporn. The Leicester cueman crafted runs of 91, 62 and 59 on his way ot the routine win.

Chinese teenager Xing Zihao put on a superb display to beat Ross Muir 5-1. The tour rookie fired in breaks of 52, 51, 70 and 128 during the win.

Former Welsh Open champion Joe Perry earned his progression with a 5-0 defeat of Australia’s Ryan Thomerson. The Gentleman made breaks of 52 and 87 during the victory.

David Gilbert top scored with 104 on his way to a thumping 5-0 defeat of Scotland’s Dean Young, while Welshman Andrew Pagett edged past Ahmed Elsayed of the USA 5-3.

Welsh youngster Alfie Davies held off Sydney Wilson to earn a 5-4 victory and Ashley Carty beat last week’s Scottish Open runner-up Noppon Saengkham 5-2.
