Murphy makes perfect start to title defence at Championship League

“The first stage of the Championship League in Leicester was completed on Thursday with defending champion Shaun Murphy and world semi-finalist David Gilbert finalising the last-32 group line-up for the second phase. Murphy dropped only one frame in charging to victory in Group 3 while Gilbert producing a fabulous knock of 136 to claim top spot in Group 15. Both men return to action on Friday.”
